About Us

We are Lexy Kubicka and Steve York. We live in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia. Steve is working on his Electrical Engineering degree and Lexy is currently in residential water treatment. In addition to our nutty dogs, we also have a lovely flock of finches, a canary, and a lutino Indian Ringneck named General Kael who is almost more of a clown than Bridge is. Obviously, we're juuust starting out in the wonderful world of showing. We love what we are learning, and we've met some great people, and we know that eventually Dagon will be a "real" kennel with more beezers. :)

No, we're not always zombies.

What is Dagon?

Dagon (pronounced DAY-gahn) has a few meanings. Dagon originally was a Phoenician god of agriculture and fertility. Wikipedia says "He was also a major member, or perhaps head, of the pantheon of the Biblical Philistines. This position as major god of the enemies of the Ancient Israelites led to Dagon's demonization in the Hebrew Bible." The twisting of Dagon into an evil fish god probably came from the fact that the Phoenicians were masters of the sea. H P Lovecraft wrote a short story loosely based on Dagon, the first of the Cthulhu stories. There is also a great movie called Dagon based on the "Shadow over Innsmouth" short story. Since we probably have the Phoenicians to thank for bringing Ibizans from Egypt to the Balaeric Islands, and I just love Lovecraftian horror, Dagon is a kennel name that combines a little history and a little fun. Cthulhu ftaghn!
